We won't need an Axle Brace with the Power Cycles.  Their wide back end supports the axle just fine, so, we can use the same length as stock.  The Cold Rolled steel will  bend less easily.

Measure and mark the steel shaft at 20 inches.

Cut the shaft off at the mark.

With a file, or outside on the cement, file off the rough corners that the hacksaw made.  Next, on the cement, roughen up about 1/2 inch of both ends of the shaft.   Scrape around the shaft.  This will help give the Cap Nut something to grab onto when you assemble later.
